My Broken Wing.

I got a little broken off this past week in Breckenridge. This damaged wing will not be the end of me, but here is the story for those who keep asking. I was riding down Park Lane for my first full run of the day. All was well as I approached the jump line. A normal person might have taken proper safety precautions before hitting the jumps, but I just decided to send’er and do a backside five. As I spotted my landing and got my fist pump ready I noticed that my heel strap was no longer connected. I don’t know if it was cranked too tied and couldn’t stand the pressure of my massive pop or if I just grabbed harder than Jenna Jameson in her breakthrough movie, but either way it resulted in immediate death. I tripped over my free foot and took a tumble. There was blood and guts everywhere. However, my left arm somehow remained in its socket.

I decided to take the safe rout and avoid hitting jumps for a couple runs. Willis Brown gave me encouraging words such as, “You are fine” and “Stop overreacting”. I decided to listen to these enlightening words and suck it up. I arrived at the top of Park Lane for round two. I sped up into jump one set up for what would have been probably the best frontside 360 that anyone had ever seen…ever. Unfortunately, 10-4 see ya latah, bye bye left shoulder. My arm managed to pop right out of its socket as I got to about 90 degrees. I landed on my feet and road away with my arm still dislocated. What was more impressive was jump number two. This is where I decided to drift off course and somehow in my shock and agony pop my shoulder back into place.

I am sure the rest of my day would have been filled with double corks and murdered landings, but unfortunately it came to an early end. Hopefully this won’t be a season ender.
